The Party Pier Tram Station was opened on October 21st, 2015. Service time of Guangzhou Tram THZ1 was also prolonged that now it serve from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. A late night sectional service of THZ1 between Canton Tower and Party Pier was also opened since October 21st, 2015.
THZ1, also known as Haizhu Island Circular New Tram, was started trial operation on the last day of 2014. But the Party Pier Station could not be opened at the same time because the building working was started for just a few weeks.
Party Pier Station is near the Party Pier Beer Culture & Arts District. Because of the shortcomings on public transport near the district, we can predict that many people will go to or leave for the district by taking the tram. So the tram company also opens a late night sectional service between Canton Tower and Party Pier. The sectional service will serve from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m with a 13-minute departure inteval.
At the same day, the tram company also change the service time of THZ1 to 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. At the period of the morning peak, from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., departure interval of Wanshengwei Station will shortened to 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
